"Then go ahead!" Eric boomed. He was shocked at the volume of his voice, he never knew could be this loud. "I'm tired of you threatening to disown me at every little mistake I make!
If me being what you call 'special' is what it takes for you to love me, then I want it!"
"Shut your mouth! You need to learn to be grateful for what your father and I have done for you! You aren't special yet, because you don't choose to!"
"And I'll keep choosing not to if it means I don't have to live you sad excuses as parents!" He froze, did he really just insult them?
"You think a normal child is going to just sit and tolerate all of this?" Eric fixates his gaze to meet his mother's, "You'll find no one!"
His father spoke up, "You don't even know how much we left behind for you to live a better life here in America! That's why you're acting this way."
How many times did they both repeat this line? Eric couldn't help buut let out a chuckle. How did they not notice the irony?
"No shit!" If you really wanted me to live a better life here, then I shouldn't know. You never shut up about how you sacrificed everything for me, but how could I forsake it if you have already have done it yourselves?
Tears threatened Eric's eyes for the first time in possibly years. "I'm miserable. Does that sound like a better life than yours?" Eric's parents' frowns quickly collapsed into ones of regret.
Eric was crying, and they were the reason why he was. They quickly run to Eric, wrapping him in an embrace. It was a silent apology, and a promise to finally see the error of their ways.
